2024 Cadillac Escalade Highlights: Innovations, Power, Safety

The 2024 Cadillac Escalade is still the flagship model, despite the expansion of the XT- lineup. Some rumors were about a replacement, but management quickly denied those speculations. The current version is still new. The company is launching an SUV in 2021 and the biggest improvement over the current version is the Escalade V Series. The next move seems to be EV.

The luxury SUV is powered by powerful V8 units. The base version gets a naturally aspirated engine, while the 2024 Cadillac Escalade V is a turbocharged configuration with 682 hp. As a premium SUV, the price is unaffordable for many fans. In addition, loyalty makes the resale value much higher. Interestingly, the company has not ditched the diesel unit yet.

Specifications: Petrol and Diesel engines

The SUV will continue to use a 6.2-liter V8 engine with 420 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque. It provides enough power for a large and heavy vehicle. Agility and acceleration are not the best things about the Escalade. But, you can still tow over 7,700 pounds in a luxury car. A ten-speed automatic transmission sends power to the rear axle automatically, or both at the customer's request.

The 2024 Escalade Diesel is still here. The company has stopped burning oil in other vehicles, focusing more on the EV system. The 3.0-liter turbodiesel Duramax can provide 277 hp and 460 lb-ft of twist. It's enough to increase the towing capacity to 8,200 pounds. Also, this engine is very fuel efficient. The petrol setup returns just 16 mpg, while the diesel comes in at 23 mpg in combined driving.

2024 Cadillac Escalade V Series Model

The V badge is reserved for premium models. The Escalade is one of them, but it was not easy to create the perfect configuration for a large SUV. Engineers charged a 6.2-liter engine, producing 682 hp for the 2024 Cadillac Escalade V Series model. It is one of the most powerful results in the SUV world. However, it makes the price go up quickly, so the MSRP starts above $160,000. Not only is the Escalade V one of the most powerful cars, but it is also the most expensive car in the segment.

2024 Cadillac Escalade EV

The resurgence of the diesel engine is surprising, especially knowing that GM is all about EVs. Lyriq is already out, a few more trademarks are available, and the 2024 Cadillac Escalade electric concept has been released. Soon, it should reach production and sales.

The luxury SUV will share the platform with the Chevrolet Silverado EV truck. The numbers aren't final, but expect a higher final range in two- and tri-motor setups. One of the main problems is the price. A premium SUV is already too expensive for many buyers, and electric vehicle technology is not cheap. Still, Cadillac will try to bring the Escalade EV closer to fans of zero-emission cars.
