We already knew that the 2024 Jeep Wagoneer S would get a range of 300+ miles and deliver more than 600 horsepower. But now that the all-electric mid-size SUV has been revealed, we have more details – including pricing and when we'll see it go on sale. We also know that it's a 2024 model, not a 2025 as we previously thought.

So, let's dig into the deets.

Best 2024 Jeep Wagoneer S Photos

As we mentioned in the previous article, the 2024 Jeep Wagoneer S will have a limited range of 300 miles (which means it will be slightly higher). This is important because the car will have all-wheel drive. We already knew it would deliver 600 horsepower and a 0 to 60 mph time of 3.4 seconds.

What we didn't know is that it will be the equivalent of a gas-powered Jeep Grand Cherokee. In fact, it's only an inch shorter. The main dimensions are as follows:

  • Wheelbase: 113.0 inches
  • Length: 192.4 inches
  • Width (in mirrors): 83.6 inches
  • Height (to roof rails): 64.8 inches
  • Earth removal: 6.4 inches
  • Volume of goods (after first, second lines): 61.0 cubic feet, 30.6 cubic feet.

We also know that it will get a small frunk with a volume of 3.0 cubic ft, and will have a maximum towing capacity of 3,400 pounds and a maximum payload of 1,033.

Although the Wagoneer S is the same size as the Grand Cherokee, it will only have two rows and seat five. We expect this to be due to the load capacity and overall battery size.

Cool features come standard on the Launch Edition

The first available model of the 2024 Jeep Wagoneer S is the Launch Edition, and it basically includes everything you'd want as standard fare. In fact, if you look at feature availability, there are just two additional cost options: Radar Red interior and Trailer Tow Group. Of course, we don't have prices for those two items, but if you consider the general inventory, it probably doesn't matter that much.

So, what is included? Outside, you're looking at LED lighting with a distinctive lighting signature that flows into the “grille.” You will also see high-end features such as hands-free liftgate, dual-pane panoramic sunroof, 10-inch head-up display, 10.25-inch passenger screen, 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, -customizable ambient, heating -ventilated first and second seats and a 12.3 inch infotainment screen.

The Launch Edition will also get the premium McIntosh sound system we've seen on other Jeep vehicles. This is a custom-tuned system with 19 speakers, a 1,2000-watt amplifier and a 12-inch subwoofer. Although I am not an audiophile, my husband is an audiophile, and when he encountered this system in other cars, he said it was the best car sound he had ever heard.

On top of all that, the 2024 Jeep Wagoneer S is loaded with standard safety technology like a 360-degree camera, adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, rear traffic alert and autonomous parking assist. This midsize EV SUV will also get Active Driving Assist, which is Stellantis' version of hands-free driving on highways.

Price and availability

The 2024 Jeep Wagoneer S is the world's first all-electric Jeep brand, and will hit dealerships in the fall of 2024. The starting price, including destination will be $71,995.

If you think that price is a little high, you'd be right when you look at what's available right now. And again, there aren't many midsize, two-row electric SUVs available to compare.

The Chevrolet Blazer EV and Honda Prologue, which are the same size, start around $50k. Admittedly, neither of these cars push the envelope of comfort. However, when you look at the Acura ZDX, which is closer to luxury, the Wagoneer S's price makes more sense. The price of the ZDX ranges from about $66k to $75k.

An important point

The folks at Stellantis, the parent company of the Jeep brand, were late to the EV party, which means they've had plenty of time to listen to EV complaints and work out bugs. An AWD SUV with 300+ miles of range sounds pretty good on paper, so we hope the 2024 Jeep Wagoneer S delivers on its promise.

If it does, Jeep – and therefore Stellantis – has the potential to kick EV butt.
