Ineos Launches VAT Eligible Commercial Grenadier for £52,000 • Expert Pick-up

Ineos Grenadier Commercial 2024 Professional Van 02

The Ineos Grenadier is a capable off-road vehicle, but commercial users are frustrated to pay VAT on the Utility Wagon version. The manufacturer has solved that problem, introducing the Grenadier Commercial, a customized version of the 4×4 that qualifies owners to reclaim VAT and receive lower profit tax rates.

to change the Utility wagon with two seats, the Grenadier Commercial features several modifications to ensure it is suitable as a commercial vehicle. The rear windows are fitted with aluminum panels – perfect for lettering – while the passenger door windows are blacked out, along with two 30/70 split rear cargo door windows. The chassis mounting points inside the car were permanently disabled, preventing a second row of seats from being added.

The cargo area now benefits from a full-length flat floor and a floor-to-ceiling load barrier behind the two front seats, ensuring that a standard Euro pallet measuring 1,200mm by 800mm can be carried safely. Loaded to the roof, it has more than 2,000 liters of available cargo.

Like the standard Grenadier, power is supplied by a BMW 3.0-litre turbocharged six-cylinder petrol or diesel engine, enabling the 4×4 to pull 3.5 tonnes. The Grenadier Commercial also retains a box-section frame chassis, solid steel axles, a two-speed transfer case and up to three locking differentials.

“UK customers have been asking for this to be added to our model line-up since we launched in 2022, so we're delighted to make this available so soon,” said George Ratcliffe, commercial director at Ineos Automotive. “The flexibility of the Grenadier platform allows this level of modification without compromising on driving dynamics or off-road capabilities.”
